Call to Worship
Have you been looking for Jesus in stone-cold, borrowed tombs? Forget it. Give up that futile pursuit. You will not find him there.
Indeed, he is not there! The women told us the Good News! He has risen from the dead! He is with the disciples in Galilee.
He is there in our ups and downs. He is there in our joy and our sorrow.
He is wherever there are tears of pain or grief to wipe dry. He is with those who rejoice to swell their celebrations.
He is here — with us! In each hymn and in each prayer. In each proclamation and in the people’s “Alleluia”!
Dawn has come. The promised day is here. Our hearts rejoice for we may offer the “Alleluia” again.
Let us sing praises to the Living One who is with us this day. Let us celebrate new life — Christ’s victory over death. Christ is Risen!
He is risen, indeed!
Praise Song- Christ the Lord is Risen Today (CCLI#11371293)
1. Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Earth and heaven in chorus say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia!
2. Love's redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!
3. Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once he died our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where's thy victory, boasting grave? Alleluia!
4. Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like him, like him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia
Scripture- Matthew 28:1-10
Sermon- He is not Here Pastor Jordan Rimmer
Closing Hymn- Because He Lives
God sent His son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal, and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove
my Savior lives.
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living
just because He lives.
How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives.
But greater still the calm assurance,
This child can face uncertain days
because He lives.
And then one day I’ll cross the river,
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain.
And then as death gives way to victory,
I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He lives
